Apalah arti sebuah nama?

Pernahkah anda sekalian bertanya kepada orang tua anda tentang arti nama anda? Saya pernah. Karena nama saya Winson, dulunya saya pikir kalau orang tua saya selalu menginginkan saya menjadi seorang pemenang. At least, itulah yang saya harapkan. Tetapi waktu saya bertanya kepada mereka, mereka bilang "kalau dikasih nama Wilson, kayaknya udah banyak ya, pasaran. makanya Winson ajah"

SIMPEL BANGET!

Arti apa?

best excuse of the week

My brother is 15, his name is William. And he is attending a high school that I used to attend. In fact, not only me, but also my sister and my other brother went to this school. So the teachers pretty much know about him and us as a family. When he joined the school, questions were asked to me about William, "who does he resemble the most among us?"

My teacher once asked him the same question, and she even explained the resemblance. If he resembles my sister, then he would be a dedicated boy. My sister was the chief of the student organization during her time.
If he resembles me, he would be a creative boy, I don't know how she rated me as being "creative" but oh well..
If he resembles my other brother, then he would be a rule breaker, someone who will skip classes but overall a sweet boy.

I think by now, the teachers will understand who does he resemble the most. And here is why:

On Thursday, he drove to school, but he found out that the road was blocked by a fallen tree. He couldn't find a way to go into school, so he decided to go home. He skipped school that day. Well my parents went bananas for that! I guess he wasn't that dedicated to go to school everyday.
The next day, he went to school, and during one class, a teacher asked him why he skipped the school the day before.

Teacher: I see that you did not attend the school yesterday
William: That is correct sir
Teacher: So, what is your excuse for not attending the school? You do know that your parents need to call if you were unable to attend, or you will get in trouble
William: yes sir, but I was unable to attend yesterday because someone died unexpectedly
Teacher: Oh! I am so sorry to hear that. Who died?
William: Steve Jobs sir.

#1 I'll prove them wrong

5th of September, 2011

8 am in the morning, I am about to start my job. Yes, I am in my hometown now, ready to go for work.
I spent the last 2 weeks for Raya Holiday catching up with my friends and families. They asked me the same thing: "what are you gonna do now that you've graduated?"
I had my answer. I answered. And yet I do not feel so happy about it. It seems that the people still think of me as a spoiled kid that will work in my dad's company coz I do not have the capability to work myself without my dad's hand. Even if I achieved something, they'll still think of it as my dad's achievement.

See, the thing is, back in Australia, people think of me as an independent, brilliant, smart, or hardworking.

Here, people think of me as the son of someone who is rich that will help me throughout my life.

I don't like that.

I'll prove them wrong, AGAIN

Where the hell is Indonesia?

random guy: where are u from?
me: indonesia
random: where is it?
me: do u know bali?
random: ow ya! it's fantastic! so indonesia is near bali?
me: bali is in indonesia
random: so u are from bali?
me: nope, im from lampung
random: is it in indonesia or in bali?
me: .......

My mom thinks I'm gay!!

If you're Asian, there's something that will happen to you when you hit 20's. Your parent will, especially your mom, will start asking you about your plan on 'when to get married'. Not only your mom, other moms in your Asian community will ask you the same thing wherever you meet them: at the mall, at the restaurant, at work, in the hospital while accompanying my brother, wherever.

After an appropriate amount of time, my mom started to observe the way I reacted in handling those questions from the other moms. She came into a vocal conclusion, and I did not like what's coming nor I expected it:

"son, are you gay?"

(dramatic thunder playing on the background)

"My god mom, what made you think that way??! no way no way no way!" I replied

She actually made that conclusion based on her previous observation on gay people that she met. "well, the way I see it, it does make sense. I mean, I know you were a player in high school, but then you spent 5 years overseas. People change overseas you know. who knows what happened to you up there? Besides, you constantly picking out small things about girls like her hair, or her fashion; you are bitchin out about girls being so childish and annoying; you dressed up so neat and you are SOOOOO into your looks lately, I mean, face cream? come on!"

"(think for a while, having an 'owwww' moment) wait! no! how could you say such things! I still enjoy naked girls you know!" I tried to clear things up.

and then she sighed a little and said "alright, just come to me if you're 'confused', okay?"

laugh now, you will have one of these moments later!

what's new?

My study life is officially over. Done! I'm just waiting for my convocation on the 30th of July.

I got 3 business offers! Kinda excited to start this working life soon. I hope I won't be too hasty.

I am still single, and awesoming this bachelor life of mine.

And most importantly, I have the best things that I care so much in my life: Friends and Family.

I'm back to blogging now.

Damn I love my life!

I believe in reincarnation!

So I'm back home now, as in my kampung! and I'm so glad that I'm back. Home is the best place I can be. But there's one thing that bothers me, always. I have a lot of issues with my mom. And the minute I came back, that's the time I started to feel the aura of a commander. Why? Here's why. I really think that my mom is a little bit... how to describe it accurately.... well.. authoritarian if you will. So in my house, I always here sentences like "wake up!", "clean the dishes", or "drink your juice". The thing is, I was gonna do it, but she acted like I won't do it. She also enrolled my brother into several private courses and 'forced' him to play the musical keyboard every night. and I know that my brother doesn't like it even though he is pretty good at it. So I started to realise that my mom can't go a minute without giving orders to someone. It's true! She will always find something to give someone work to do, and it's not because we are not gonna do it, it's just a habit. among all my siblings, I consider myself to be the most rebellious child in the family. So I always say things like "I'll do it if u ask me politely" or "ow mom, I'm about to do it but u make me not wanna". LOL yeah. I think she thinks I hate her. But I do not! Well.. maybe a little annoyed but not that extreme. So at one point I talked to my sister.
"you know what I just realised?" I said
"what is it?" she replied
"I think I believe in reincarnation now"
"Why so?" she asked in confusion
"I think our mom was Adlof Hitler in her previous life!" I answered firmly
"..... you're going to hell you know" she ended

Well... I think I'm going there anyway

what happened in melbourne, stays in melbourne

yeah im back from melbourne, just so u know, i went there to meet chandra, one of my best pal when i was in sunway. he came there for convocation. its been a long time that i didnt meet him and i gotta admit.. it felt really good meeting my old buddy, or pal or bro or whatever, so TOMMY PUTRA SURYAWAN LAIS, if u read this, come n we'll rock the city mate!.. anyway, i prefer to address chandra as MY WING MAN.. thats right.. he is indeed a good wing man.. i remember we went to clubbing only both of us in KL only to meet up with hotties.. lol..

so what we did in melbourne?

i arrived in melbourne airport on june 4th 12.05 am midnight. hell yea it was so damn cold in there. its foggy during the week and i didnt see sun until the last day of my trip. so i arrived there, and my other bros, picked me up at the train station. and guess where our first destination was?

yeah!! its mens gallery gentlemen's club.. for those of u who are not familiar with this term, just call it strip club. yeah, we went there and had couple of drinks, lots of chat, and some lap dances till 4am.. and we met some drunken ppl at the restaurant and some funny stories happened there as they offered us to go to watch them in a jazz performance the next day, but we rejected it, politely.

the next day, we went to casino, where chandra played and lost! haha too bad man! anyway, around 9 pm we decided to go to another strip club.. lol basically thats what we did.. so we took train, but after we stopped in a station, i got stomach ache and we decided to look for nearest bar for toilet. so we went to a bar and borrow the toilet. after we re done and ready, there was a show in the bar. there's a show girl there!! so i said, "lets enjoy here first, it's free anyway" so we bought 2 coronas and CHEERS! for free dirty dancing. lol.. the funny thing is.. the bar is old, i couldnt even lock the door when i was in the toilet coz its so damn damaged. there are some game machine and some pool table. i was 1 year in melbourne but i never felt like i was in melbourne, in that bar, however, i felt like im really overseas. thats true, the bar may not be fancy, but its awesome. made u feel like u re overseas, only 10 ppl was there and we enjoyed the show.

and we spent the night at my friends place and we had a lot to talk about.. omg how much i m gonna miss this moment. maybe because in god coast, i have too many girl friends. maybe because i rarely go out with guys here. or maybe because all the guys i met here are not yet a "wingman" type of guy. honestly, i enjoyed my life here, but i havent felt a really good guys night out here. i mean.. there are lots of bachelors places around gold coast but we never tried there. i guess bachelor friends here are not cool enough.. or maybe i havent found one? probably.. so far, i am hanging out with some pretentious guys who r only thinking on how to impress girls but hell they suck at that.

anyway, right after chandra left, i spent some times with my old friends, and we went to this place.

looks good isnt it? its a warehouse that was converted into a cafe and bar. it looks vintage and old but it kinda done the trick. it looks awesome, unique and people seem to like it. it was full house when i went there but we managed to get a seat. and the best thing is, they have lots kinds of vintage beer. from cider, pilsner, pale ale to bright ale. it was awesome! we tried all the beers with small glasses. it tasted really nice

it was a nice experience, i might wanna go there again someday. ow, and i had churros too. its some kind of flour wafer stick with chocolate dipping sauce.. yummyyyy!!

haha anyway, melbourne at this time is so cold, i had to wear double jackets

it was around 3-9 degrees so i might wanna go there during october or november, probably for someones' graduation. so, anyone in? i'll buy u a lap dance ;p

start a day with a cup of coffee, and think positively :)

i hate it when people complained about how bad their life is. i know that human have the tendency to never feel satisfied. when they achieve something they want more. thats good, i called it DETERMINATION. but people who complained and say stuffs like "why my dad isnt a millionaire?" or "im not rich okay?" or "oh i hate that i have to go to uni today, i wish i have a car"
honestly, my dad is not that rich either. but he is a very determined guy and a very positive man. he taught me how to save money and how to get what i wanted with my own hard work, and how to start a day with a positive mind. why do u complain when ur house is so damn big and ur dad is doing international business?
if u measure everything with money, trust me, u'll never get what u expect. money is not priority, happiness in life is. its about how u live it the way u are capable of. its about being positive. trust me.. when u think negatively about something, u'll become paranoid and its gonna happen the way u expected it to happen.
here is something that inspired me:
when i was in melbourne, i used to take train from melbourne central (city) to berwick (my campus).. it took the train about 55 mins to reach my campus.. in winter, its really hard for me to wake up and get ready to go to uni. i felt cold, lazy and always thought negatively like "ow crap, im gonna miss the train anyway" but i forced myself to go anyway. so i walked from my apartment to melbourne central, it takes about 7 mins to walk there. when i reached melbourne central, i always saw this homeless guy.. selling out magazines to the people.. he always smiled. he is about.. 50-60 years old or something. it was so freakin cold, probably 7-11 degree celcius. he greeted everyone and wished a great day to everyone that passed by the street while promoting the magazines. "hey buddy how r u doing today?" "hello ladies, have a great day" "hi sir, how are ya?" "hello mate, gday!"
i couldnt resist but buying the magazine. it cost me 5 dollars (i think, i kinda forgot) but i felt like i started a day with a good deeds. and i asked him "sorry mate, but.. why r u so happy? is something good happened to u?"
he answered me "i am always happy, there's nothing good happened but thats not a reason to become unhappy knowing that with this kind of feeling, something ggod will happen. u know kiddo (hell yea he called me kiddo), some people are just ungrateful for what they have. i just need a cup of coffee per day to be happy"
i was shell shocked, ashamed of myself of complaining about what i have when some that unlucky, can be that happy. i saw him almost everyday and i always say hi and he always smiled back at me.. EVERYDAY! that homeless guy made my day, and im trying to stay positive everyday.

so folks, drink coffee, think positively ;)

did u know: Coffee actually contains important anti-oxidants, which is the way most Americans get there daily fix. Coffee can be beneficial at about 1-2 cups per day.

i think i'm in love with u

me in emo mode? no way bay.. i know i have been missing someone right now and i sent her this song by mocca, an indonesian band who is known more as a cafe band: i think i'm in love with u..
it's a quite nice song.. easy listening kinda song.. well here is a fact that made me shocked.. one of my korean friends said that mocca is quite famous in korea and their songs are being played a lot in korean cafes.. wow im proud of them now..

i think i'm in love with u
by mocca

if you got an eerie feeling after hanging up the phone
sort of happy feeling but you're not sure what it's called

if you're haunted by his face whenever you're asleep at night
and think you hear his silly voice just calling out your name

oh, no! I think i'm in love with you..
on, no! i'm hoping you'll want me too
so, please..don;t let me down!
http://www.free-lyrics.org

just can't help but talk about him in every conversation
till your friends are sick and tired of that same old crap

if you start wearing make up even when you go to bed
and crying like a baby when you hear a mellow song

enjoy ;)

people come n go

well im not used to it.. definitely i experienced farewel before.. my friends, my family or my loved ones.. it's not pretty but i know i will meet them again one day which makes me ok.. but its not the case with the one i m feeling now.. i might not see her anymore.. should i just let go? i dont know.. one ever told me that people come n go, u just have to get used to it.. thats true.. u feel painful deep down in your heart but u just have to accept that its only your ego wanting them to stay for u.. people have their own life...which is why im trying to let go.. but i never realized that letting go knowing that u'll never meet again is the most painful thing u will ever experienced in social life.

whatever, i will survive

the hangover

my blog was quite dead.. i went back to indonesia and the internet wasnt that good.. when i got back to melbourne, i went for a road trip and finally, i moved to gold coast. just some story that i sum up short.

anyway, i am in gold coast now, doing my masters of business specialising in event management and tourism and hospitality management. long enough ey?
and last week was my easter break (happy easter!!) and we, me n my housemate, held quite a party in my apartment. ow btw, this is how my new room look like:

the closet

front door

my bathroom, shower n spa in it!!

here's the spa

living room

the kitchen

my closet

my closet

pretty good huh? i know!! the best things here are the private spa and the closet. but u know what? it happens to be no door in the bath room.. so... u know, it's kinda weird but whatevss..

so last easter break, we invited 20 of my friends to have bbq by the poolside, and have some drinks. ow, n they threw me to the pool btw.. showing some of their love? maybe.
we had lots of sausages, burgers, kebabs, skewers and all that for food. for beverages, and here's the biggie, 100 bottles of beer, cans of cokes, 4L of wine, and some bottles of spirit (vodka, tequila, rum)
drinking games.. n ice cream!!

some folks at the party

chef of the day

joker of the day

that's the beer!

so we had drinking games until like...2.30 am? and i was still awake till then. but this german guy, kiki said to me "yo dude, they re all wasted and this party is almost over, lets play 1 on 1 black jack with me" anddddd.. as a friendly host (and a dumbass loser), i accepted the challenge, everytime someone loses, they hv to drink 1 shot. that's right! that little shooter glass laughed at me and said "looser!"
i lost many times in a row, untill we finished all the spirits, i only had some baileys, galliano, kahlua, and grand marnier.. so we used those liqueurs for drinking games and we finished it!! great? no way. the next thing i know, i woke up in my room... NAKED.. thats right, naked!!
i woke up, my head felt so dizzy, and i saw a lot of stains from vomit in my room. my room was stink like shit. literally!
my friend called me and i asked "hey man, did u vomit in my room?" as i dressed myself up with a towel. he replied with laugh "it was u who vomit.. and btw, that was quite a show last night"
i was like "WHAT?? WHAT SHOW??" i went out of my room, checked all of the cameras to see what happened last night before i passed out. they said "nahh.. there's nothing in there.. u called a girl and said some shit in indonesian" "WHAT??"
so i checked my phone, and yeahh i called a korean girl and apparently i talked to her in indonesian. i didnt know what i said but.. let's just leave it there.. anyway here's what it looked like the morning after:

here are all the drinks we finished

what the hell happened to my kitchen?

it's all messy

that's the mess

guess where did i vomit?

from that time, they called me "angel" because i fell from the sky, with only towel around my waist.
cool huh? that was like.. the first and should be the worst hangover in my life..

believe me kids, don't drink and...

just don't drink too much, it's not gonna be good for your health

or your house the next morning

new year resolution

happy new year!!

lame... i know, it's too late yea?
but i have been busy recently with some parties arrangement, moving out stuffs, graduation, and many more. so a quick update will be.. the new year resolution!! some review about last year: i graduated from monash, i got my bartending certificate, i got better shape now thanks to "summer body project", and.. i still have no girlfriend. wow.. i havent been dating for a year.. thats kinda good....

well anyway.... how about this year?
let's see.. i am trying to get scholarship for my master, i am going to work and have my own money, and i am trying hard to be independent. thanks to a girl that i met recently, a true inspiration.

so what about u?
whats ur new year resolution?

yay me!

you know, it is very intimidating when u re waiting for your results through sms results. yes! monash has this services called sms result where u can get the result by your phone. a week before my result been released, i found it really difficult to sleep. probably becoz i ve told everyone that im going to graduate this december and i dont wanna lose face. or probably becoz i hate to repeat another unit in monash anymore. anyhow, that week was really miserable for me. i slept and had a dream about getting my results almost every night, and woke up in the middle of my dream just when i was about to open check my mobile.

it got worse the day it will be released, i slept and i had a dream that i passed all my exam, but i woke up feeling annoyed just to realize that it was a dream. and that happened every 2 hours. how stressful i was? THIS stressful.

right before it was released, i went for dinner to a japanese restaurant, and u see.. i have 2 mobiles, and i thought that my samsung is the mobile that i registered to monash for sms result, and i was playing with my iphone until i received a message:

my.monash portal sms results: mgw2200 D 70, mkw2460 D 70, mkw2600 C 61, mkw3444 D 70.

i didnt expect any sms, so when it came out to the screen, i scream loudly : "yay!!! im graduating yeahhh yeah yeah!!!" and punch the air

and everyone stared at me. i was like "ah sorry, sorry"..................... but then "i dont care yeah!!!!!" then my friend congratulated me, and we went to a bar and i opened a bottle of champagne, real good, real expensive, but its kinda nice to have people that u can celebrate with. wish u guys in malaysia is here. but yay me! im going to graduate this december!

;)

casual or strings attached? (reply to tomz blog)

so here's a topic set by my very best friend tommy in his blog. and he said:

In terms of relationship, and by this i mean a guy being close to a girl or vice versa, in more than friendly manner.

When your relationship comes to a certain point which i think you know where, do you prefer to have it casual? To consider it as something fun to experience, somehow gray, and unlabeled so to say.

OR do you prefer to have it named? (boyfriend, girlfriend, soulmate, love, you name it).

in that case i have to say that this is a case that always happened to me almost all the time. when I am close to someone with or without intention to be with someone, i always want to define the relationship for future's sake. i will say it again. I WILL ALWAYS WANT TO DEFINE MY RELATIONSHIP. i dont want it to be casual. maybe i would, but there's a point in a relationship where u cant be a casual. u gotta do it anyway so why dont u do it from the start?

and here's my reason:
when i went out with one of my exes (is that the plural form?), and there's a time when u want to know what kind of relationship that we were having, i asked "what are we now?" and she said "i just want it to be natural, casual, is status really matters to u?" well at that point u say "it's not that.. it's just.. bla bla bla" and u gave her some reasons, but in my head i was thinking.."hell yea it matters!! where's my limit if i dont know my status?" i mean.. if you are casual, can u hold her hand? can u give her a hug? can u kiss her? it's not that it matters to kiss you or sleep with you, what matters is that we know our limit when we want to express our feeling. is a kiss alrite? is a hug too much? and thats one.

number two is that it gives u an idea on how to react at some events. here's what happened to me before. so we were kinda casual, and she decided to go out with some other guy, a friend that she hasn't met for a long time. how would you react? is that ok if u feel jealous? well she's not yours for u to be jealous. but u feel jealous? what do u do? nothing u can do. u dont have the right to be jealous, but u are just a human being that can feel jealousy. its like a mental torture when this happens, believe me, u wont like it. now when the same thing happens to u, when a girl asked u on a date, what do u do? will u ask for permission? but she's not ur girlfriend why should u be worried? but u feel guilty and uncomfortable going out with someone else. so u decided to tell her and she said u cant go out with her? how would u react? but i guess it depends on how would u want to react at the first place. if u like it this way, then u re a lucky bastard. but if either side feel this way, then this is for u.

and here's the final reason. u want to define ur relationship because u want to be sure on where is this relationship going to. well.. there's this relationship that i had before, and when i asked her what we were, she said this "we will see.. if we are destined together, then no one will be able to break it". what did i say? "ok" and that was the worst answer i had ever given to anyone. i mean helloooooo?? are u dumb or just plain stupid? sorry if im not a believer. sorry if im not a biggest fan of cinderella story. and sorry if im being realistic. but hell, i dont believe in destiny. i believe that we are what we decided yesterday. there's no such thing as destiny in love. i believe that 2 people falling in love and try to work out for their relationship. if u cant give me assurance of where this relationship is going to then u dont want what i want. and thats the end of the story for me. u can say "but i love her". well theres million of men and women out there looking for exactly u and u want to try to do and work it out even though u dont know where is it going to? its ur call buddy, as i said, u are what u decided yesterday. but does he or she really worth trying? if yes then u re a lucky person and u should go for it. but keep my advices in mind.

and that concludes it, what do u think?

comment, follow, rate, define ur relationship

a mini guide to choose university

p.s: this is only my opinion based on the experience that i had, the rest of the decision is up to you, i m only trying to help you to make your decision. a lot of ppl asked me why i want to make this, it is mainly because i dont want you to make the same mistakes that i did. to be honest, joining monash is something that i regret and i'll tell you why later. i know its a long and probably a boring post, but it is very important for u guys to read it, so just spend some times to read it and i think its worth it rather than u spend 4 years in a miserable uni life.

so a lot of my juniors from high school and some are just my friends asked me about how do we choose a good university or college or post graduate overseas - probably weeks ago. it's not that i i dun wanna help you, i was busy with my assignment back then, so i hope this will help you guys to figure yourselves out.

here are some factors to help you to choose a university, with some few examples from my experience:

1. know what you want
today, there are a lot of major and wide areas of study that you can choose, almost are all available. from mechanical engineering (if you like to modify and create a new design of car), fashion design, and even service industry entrepreneurship. it is best if you can be specific about the major that you want to take.
for example: instead of marketing, try entertainment marketing. instead of tourism, try tourism entrepreneurship. instead of engineering, try mechanical engineering. tell your education agency about your specific wants. search it yourself on the internet to double check!!
this is something that i regretted a lot because i never know that entertainment marketing is a major, instead i only said business and they got me monash. so dont make the same mistake!
sometimes people think on how do i know what i want to study. well.. it is easy for me, what do you like to do the most? what is your talent according to you? if you think you are good at speaking, u might want to consider something in communication area. if you think you re good at writing, u might want to try journalism. if you think you re a hardcore gamer, you can try gaming design. as i said, there are a lot of major to choose.

2. know where u wanna go
one of your major decisions that u have to make. think about the geographical area that you are about to go, and how different the culture might impact you and your lifestyle. here's some examples:

case 1.
i chose malaysia because i always thought malaysia offer me with a lot of benefits, there's not much cultural difference, but it is far more open to foreign culture than indonesia. it is also really good coz i met a lot of great friends there and i really miss it there. another stuff is that malaysia is not really expensive compared to singapore, US and australia - 3 of the most countries chosen by my friends to study. the food are most likely the same with indonesian food and its vary more.

case 2.
i moved to melbourne because i want to see how does it feel to study in australia, and i never regretted it. i met a lot of smart people who always aim high and inspire me to do the same, i can show you how my grades are different in malaysia and in melbourne. other things are that in melbourne, i find that the culture is a lot different and i really like open culture because i am skeptical and free thinker. and lastly, the standard of marking is totally different. in malaysia, definition is very important, while in australia, examples and application will guarantee high marks. in melbourne, u'll feel that it is very indonesian. there are a lot of indonesian students and there are a lot of indonesian food so u wont miss home a lot, BUT its not the same if you go to brisbane or perth

case 3.
some of my friends are studying in singapore and i will not recommend you to go there if you re the type of person who cant stand competition. besides, its not my fav country in terms of culture. but i do believe that singapore is a good place to study just that sometimes stress can be very tough to handle.

now from 3 cases above, i hope u can think of the country that u want to go.. anywhere is possible, my advise: try to go to the country that has less indonesian to practice better on how to start a living.. it is really cool.

3. desired major or big names?
here's some mistakes that a lot of people always make. we always choose big names over desired major. and frankly i always think thats wrong. i hate it when people said "i heard monash is good" or "i never heard of QUT before" or stuff. and i do feel the pressure that sometimes parents (or friends of parents) want their children to get a good degree. but here's what i think, i think what matters most is that u can get the degree that you want rather than unwanted degree under big names. hell with big names. hell with what people think of a university. if you can get what you want, why not? you choose what you want. not them!! and u deserve something special! and here's my case with monash. people think monash is good and some people think that everythin in monash is good. for example, i know that monash is good with engineering, but i dunno about art. so dont just choose monash because of their big names! try other uni! and in my opinion, i do think sometimes big name is not equals to good teaching program. big names equals to high standard of marking.
example: i have this lecturer, lets call her mrs.black (no, its not racist at all =p). she is a lecturer for my third year unit. and to be honest, i dont think she is a good lecturer. i mean.. she doesnt even know how to teach. but hell, her marking is very strict. i failed my final exam because when i look at my exam she said "ok u lose marks on this this and this" and i was like.. "wtf black, u cant teach properly and yet u give this high standard of marking? i think i can even teach u how to teach"
and thats my case with some lecturers and it happens a lot! so really consider this: is big name really important? is big name equal to high standard of teaching?

4. dont let agents tell you what to do. you tell em what to do!!
now this is really important: agent!! i know how agents work, so dont let em fool you, i said this as a guy who dont trust agents a lot. sometimes agents will come and say this: what major do you want, and when u say "business in australia" and they'll simply say monash, rmit, bla bla bla. why dont they say something about QUT or Griffiths? coz they got higher fee from certain universities. and they usually say this: we know that monash is excellent in this area bla bla bla. now ask them this: "are you saying this as a marketing agent or are you saying this as a former student?"
here's my case with agency:
so when i chose to study in malaysia to study business, the agent only said "ok we'll handle it" now that sentence is really good to hear, coz u dont have to handle anything. and frankly i really didnt handle anythin. all i knew is that im going to malaysia, sunway to study business. i didnt even know which uni until i got there. i thought that was nice, i didnt do any works, they did all the works and we didnt pay anything. and i realized it now that agents are evil, they didnt care about us actually. they only care about getting u to an education, they didnt ask u what you really want, but me, i care a lot about what you wanna do. and thats why i made this blog to let you know what i want you guys to know. so remember, dont let em tell u what to do, you tell em what u want!! and let em do it good!!

5. know your limit
here's the mini cherry on the top of sundae. know your limit. as i said before, big name sometimes equals to higher standard of marking not teaching. so know your limit. if you dont think that u can join monash, then join other uni. dont force yourself or u'll ended up struggling not to get good marks, but struggling to pass. remember that u can get higher education not only in a good uni like monash, mel-u, or unsw. u can also get good education in deakin or rmit. trust me there are a lot of decent uni out there. the level of education is high now.

now thats all the factors that i can think about as in for now. u know i really appreciate it if you guys can spread this to all your friends looking for higher education now. i hope it really helps u guys and i appreciate feedbacks and comments. and i always like to say this:

we deserve more, so we need to know more.

hope it helps u guys and ur frens.. cheers!!

live your life to the fullest!!

now here's a topic that bothers me all week... a friend of me asked me this during a conversation on facebook:

mr.h: hey u know what, i ve been thinking. i want to bet very successful by studying engineering, i want to be a very famous engineer someday
w: yea? how r u gonna do that?
mr.h: well.. i'll concentrate on my study. i'll stop playing around. i'm 20 now. time to get serious.
w: wow.. yea? and u like it like that?
mr. h: no.. but i think i can focus on my goal by doin that
w: live your life buddy.
mr.h: what do u mean live ur life? i want to contribute sumthin to the world here. i want to be known for somethin when i died. and thats life is all about to live for.
w: do u have any frens other than me?
mr.h: well no.. i mean.. i came here (Vancouver) to study. i dun need friends as in for now.
w: uh uh.. i dont think thats a good idea about how u "live ur life"
mr.h: and i suppose u have a point?
w: well yea.. i have my own point on how i live my life... and here's how

u see.. live is about something.. being famous, getting ur goals achieved, fulfill your dreams. but u do have to remember. there's so much that life has to offer. i'll tell u a story and i heard this from someone that has been an inspiration for me. but its my version tho. this story came from turkey.

a man is in seek for the meaning of life, and one day he asked to the wiseman about how do u live ur life. and the wiseman simply said "okay.. meet me tomoro at the bar and bring a spoon and a bottle of honey". and this man thinks "wow this guy is a freak.. honey and spoon..? god i hope not what im thinkin".
and the next day, he meets the wiseman at the bar with a spoon and a bottle of honey. and the wiseman said "now fill the spoon with honey and bring this to my place as fast as u can without dropping any of the honey". and fyi, the wiseman lives really far away, but the man thinks he can do it fast.. lets do it fast! so the man brings the spoon to the wiseman REALLY FAST without dropping any of the honey. and he asked "hey wiseman. i did it really fast right? and i suppose i get my reward?" and the wiseman replied "ok.. now.. did u see the statute of liberty during ur way here? did u see the amazing magician performing right at the corner of the street? did u see the cute dogs when u passed the park? and did u see the hot girls opened the door to my house for u?" the man said no and said "i was focusing on the spoon and honey here so they didnt drop"
heres the conclusion, men always race with time, they scared that they wont have enough time on their life to fulfill their dreams (which is why MLM is really popular) and that makes people tend to only focus on what they after as fast as they can. but when u focus on your goals too much, u missed on so many beautiful points of life that happens around u. u live ur life to the fullest when u keep the balance between ur goals to bring the honey to the wiseman, but take some time to look at the statute of liberty, see the amazing magician, adore the cute dogs, and nail the chick in wiseman's house.
the point is, the balance achieving your goals and take whatever the world offers u, is what i meant by living my life. no matter how long it takes to achieve ur dreams, coz thats how long we want to live our life ;)

at least... thats what im doing now.. patience will pay off.. cheers!!

boys are boys

i was having some coffee and cakes in starbucks with the gang feat. sophie (her name is selvia but she wants us to call her sophie??). and we were having this conversation about how girls can so easily get big headed everytime guys act nice to them. so this case happened to my fren here, lets call him mr. x.
so mr.x is a very nice guy and he even acts, well... nicer to girls, which i considered as gentleman! and girls are like.. "wow this guy likes me.." and their head get bigger..
so we asked sophie about this and she said:

w: so we think, girls are ridiculous if they think so, it is reasonable but still.. their sensitivity drives me crazy sometimes. they started to think i like em.

s: well yea.. but i dont think so.. i think its normal for a guy to act nice.. maybe u guys re the one who get the wrong perception

w: really?

s: yea.. for sure.. i feel normal

w: uh-huh.. so when a guy acts really nice.. u will be like.. nothing at all?

s: yeap

w: well are you really a girl?

s: wtf?? of course i am... well its really normal.. say if u are the one who.. lets say a girl act really nice with you.. what do you think?

w: well...

s: you think she likes you?

w: no

s: see.. its actually...

w: i think it's because i'm cool

s: ....
(the gang laughs with thumbs up)

s: i find it really dificult to communicate with you guys..

i miss my malaysian club life

so i m sitting here listening to some songs that i want to prepare for tomorrow as me and my friends are going to lake entrance. i open my ipod and there's a playlist named "my fav club songs" and i sort it by my rating.. as i listen to this, my memory goes back to the time when i used to go club in malaysia. it was really happening, really fun, really hot n sexy, really ME!!
alcohol, great musics, friends and some random hotties and cinko around.. i really miss it.. dont even try to compare it with the clubs here. i went to club here like 3 times and only 1 club so far that i will rate as "decent". the rest... omg kill me now...
